"　【シンガポール＝岡崎哲】米国の反捕鯨団体シー・シェパードによる調査捕鯨妨害事件で、日本で有罪判決を受けたピーター・ベスーン元船長は７日、ラジ オ・ニュージーランドに出演し、今年１月に小型高速船「アディ・ギル（ＡＧ）号」で日本の調査捕鯨船団の監視船「第２昭南丸」と衝突、沈没したのは、 シー・シェパードのポール・ワトソン代表の指示による自作自演の沈没だったことを暴露した。

　ベスーン元船長は、「高速船は衝突後、えい航可能な状態だったが、（沈没したと発表すれば）『世の同情を買い、テレビ映えする』として、わざと放棄、沈没させるようワトソン代表に指示された」と語った。"
